Day 1 – USA to Poland

Depart from US on flight to Warsaw, Poland.

Day 2 – Warsaw, Poland

Upon arrival in Warsaw, enjoy a half day city tour to visit the landmarks of Warsaw. Dinner and overnight in Warsaw.

Day 3 – Warsaw

This morning we will have a walking tour of Warsaw. Due to the war, the town was devastated, but over the decades they have rebuilt the Old Town brick by brick. In the afternoon our excursion will lead us to the Franciscan Monastery founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe. During WWII, the monastery provided shelter to about 3000 Polish and Jewish refugees from Western Poland. St. Maximilian Kolbe was arrested by the Gestapo and died in Auschwitz in 1941. The monastery visit will include the museum and the basilica. Enjoy the remainder of the day in Warsaw. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Warsaw - Czestochowa

Today we will drive to Czestochowa to visit the Jasna Gora monastery with the Black Madonna picture, one of the most important places of religious worship in the Christian world, with a tradition of pilgrimages that goes back to the 14th century. Dinner and overnight in Czestochowa.

Day 5 – Auschwitz - Wadowice - Krakow

This morning we will depart for Krakow with a stop in Auschwitz. We’ll visit the Martyrdom Museum at the Nazi concentration camp as we remember the horrors of the Holocaust. Continue on to Wadowice, the hometown of Blessed John Paul II and visit the house where he was born which is now a museum. Drive to Krakow for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Krakow

Begin the day touring St. Mary’s Church where you will see one of the most beautiful wooden altars in Poland. Every hour you can hear the trumpet signal from the top of St. Mary’s towers. Journey to the Royal Cathedral and enjoy its beautiful setting on Wawel Hill. Continue to the Cathedral Museum, where John Paul II himself studied. We will also visit St Faustina’s convent chapel and tomb. Dinner and overnight in Krakow.

Day 7 – Krakow

Following breakfast we will have a morning excursion to Wieliczka. Experience a tour in the Wieliczka Salt Mines which is one of the wonders of Poland. This incredible place has 3 levels and goes 446 feet below ground level. See many amazing sites including a church underground, which is carved entirely from salt. Return to Krakow for an afternoon of leisure. Dinner and overnight in Krakow.

Day 8 – Krakow - Czech Republic - Prague

Start the day with a hot breakfast buffet and travel to the Czech Republic. Enjoy seeing the country side as we arrive in Prague. Dinner and overnight in Prague.

Day 9 – Prague

After breakfast, we begin our tour of beautiful Prague. We will visit the Prague Castle District where we tour St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George Basilica, Daliborka Tower, the Golden Lane and the St. Nicholas Church of the Old Town Square. We will also have an opportunity to see the Prague Loreto Church which is well known all around the world. When visiting the Church of Our Lady Victorious, we will see the renowned statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague. Dinner and overnight in Prague.

Day 10 – Prague

This morning we will visit the Strahov Monastery in Prague. The tranquil location offers a chance for quiet meditation or an opportunity to visit its famous library of over 16,000 books. We will journey to the Tyn Church, with its deep history and see the main altar picture which represents the Rise to Heavens of the Virgin Mary. Farewell dinner and our final night in Prague.

Day 11 – Departure - USA

This morning we will depart for the Prague airport and our return flight to the US.
